Why?

Why not? This blog is a collection of stories from a parallel universe--one in which technology is linked to consciousness, and everything happens the way it's supposed to (at least, that's what they want you to believe). And, as usual, nobody has a clue what's going on. This universe has been narrowly, but intensively inhabited by volunteers on h2g2's Beta rpg, which you may visit at your peril. May the Gheorgheni gods go with you.

Song of the Wandering Gheorghenis

Alexei, Elektra, and Stefan and me,
A long time ago, we set out to sea,
The sky overhead and the wind in the lee,
And we vowed that we'd never be parted.

The sky it turned dark as we traveled through space,
We learned we were simply the last of our race,
And as we moved on I could never keep pace,
And I found we were easily parted.

Alexei bore onward, he wanted to save
The best of the best, and the bravest of brave,
His journey was ended inside a deep cave,
And the fellowship then was first parted.

Then Stefan went out, and tried to collect
The long tangled threads of the web to protect
The lost frightened people, and then reconnect,
But he found they were easily parted.

Elektra stayed with me, she sadly stood by,
As the matrix collapsed 'neath the darkening sky,
And all she could do was watch with me and cry,
As the bond of the heavens was parted.

Now all we can do is move on with the tide,
And hope that there's comfort upon the far side,
We seek resurrection for the dream that once died,
In a land where we'll never be parted.
